A Little Wu-Tang for James Foley

James Foley in Tripoli, Libya by Jonathan Pedneault. Used with permission in accordance to the online request.

In celebration of his life and work, the University of Massachusetts Amherst MFA Program for Poets and Writers will have an event on Saturday, September 20 at the University Club from 4 to 6 p.m. If you’re in the area, swing on by and pay your respects. If not, here’s a little Wu-Tang Clan related music for you to enjoy.

Here’s the Facebook event page.

Also, Yago fondly remembered on his Facebook page the time during their MFA years that he and James caught the Clan at the Mullins Center so we thought it fit to add a little of that Wu-Tang flavor in keeping his name alive well beyond what our time and this digital codex allows.

GZA – “Liquid Swords”

Wu-Tang Clan – “C.R.E.A.M.”

Wu-Tang Clan – “Triumph”

Ol’ Dirty Bastard – “Shimmy Shimmy Ya”

Raekwon – “Criminology”
