Kill Your Idol hosts benefit for baby Zéa Joli Lane this Thursday

My friend and longtime South Florida music scenester Chris Graham and his family are going through an unimaginable emotionally and financially draining ordeal as their eight-month-old daughter, Zéa Joli Lane, fights through an aggressive stage IV Neuroblastoma cancer that has attacked her spine and has spread to her neck, brain, kidney, liver, lungs, bone marrow and to areas of tissue in her lower extremities.

Chris, an employee of the Sub-Culture group (Kill Your Idol, Dada, Howley’s, Longboards, Respectable Street Café, etc…) has been a fixture in Miami and Miami Beach’s nightlife for many years as a DJ, promoter and wearer of numerous other hats in the industry.

On Thursday, November 12, Kill Your Idol will host a benefit with a  huge roster of local bands and DJs with no door cover . One hundred percent of proceeds will go to the baby’s fund in an effort to help assuage the mounting medical costs of her care. The eight bars under the Sub-Culture conglomerate in the tri-county area will be donating all of their dessert sales on Thursday as well.

At eight months of age, Zéa is facing her eighth round of chemo and a potential relocation to NYC for diagnostic reassessment and care. She’s a fighter, but cancer treatment is a day-to-day event, with some days being better than others.

Please consider donating and sharing this link with your friends and contacts. Even if it’s just one dollar, every dollar counts. They’re slightly past the halfway mark of a very doable $50,000 goal. In South Florida, regardless of the veneer of narcissism and self-centered egotistical indulgence that shields us from the sun, we help each other out.
