EVENT PREVIEW: MIA Brewing Co. Grand Opening Party — Saturday, Feb. 21
The Miami beer scene is coming of age with the grand opening of its newest brewery, MIA Brewing Co., located in the heart of Doral off of 107th avenue and NW 33rd street. The party begins on Saturday, February 21 at noon and will last till at least 12 a.m.!
If there’s one reason why you would come to the brewery, it’s obviously for the beer. For their grand opening, MIA has put together an epic tap list that includes: Miami Weiss, MIA IPA, 305 Lager, Baltizar Nitro, Blue Monster, Czar Face, Edenboc, Freestyle, Kilty Pleasure, Fontainebru, Mai Tai, My Li’l Brony, Peat Sematary, Rye Tortugas, Calle Oatcho, Baltizar, Conga Lime, El Cuco, Crossing Streams, Fuzzy Wuzzy, Tourist Trappe, Man-O-War and the aptly named Catalina Wine Mixer.
And if that list of beers isn’t enough for you, there will be beers from other breweries including, but not limited to: Anderson Valley, Biscayne Brewing, Brouwerij Strubbe, Cigar City Brewing, Due South Brewing, Fat Heads Brewing, Founders Brewing, Funky Buddha Brewing, J. Wakefield Brewing, JDubs Brewing, Mother Earth Brewing, Six Point Brewing and Wynwood Brewing.
With all of these awesome brews, you’ll eventually need some equally awesome food. Well, MIA Brewing Co. will be taking care of that. With their in-house kitchen and food trucks on hand you’ll definitely have a smorgasbord of cuisine to pick from.
To buy the beer and food, you’ll need tickets. Tickets are $5 each. The beers will be one to two tickets and food will be one to three tickets. If purchasing from food trucks, you’ll be able to make your purchases with cash or card. You’ll also be able to purchase other items with tickets like t-shirts and some sweet glassware. If you get a chance, stop by the brewery before and purchase your tickets before Saturday so that you don’t have to wait in line.
MIA Brewing Co. is also taking care of your entertainment needs during their grand opening party with music from both ¡Mayday! and Suenalo. There are also several other bands and DJs playing throughout the day.
Finally, I was able to speak with MIA Brewing Co.’s Tap Room Manager, Claudio Menicocci.
TG: Will every beer be available all day or are there set times when the beers are released?
CM: Most beers will be on tap from the beginning of the day and then others will be tapped as the initial beers start to blow. There will be no timed tappings.
What’s your favorite beer that’s going to be tapped on Saturday?
We will be tapping two brand new beers on Saturday that I haven’t even tried! Man-O-War and Catalina Wine Mixer. But right now my two favorites are El Cuco and Calle Oatcho.
Tell me about the newest beers Man-O-War and Catalina Wine Mixer.
All I can tell you is the Man-O-War was brewed with a gluttonous amount of hops–over six pounds per barrel! And the Catalina Wine Mixer is a Belgian blonde brewed with Chardonnay juice giving a nice wine-like finish.
When do you think it would be the best time to arrive?
Arrival time? Any time! We’ll have amazing beers pouring at all times, a DJ during the day and many live acts all night, including Mayday and Suenalo!
Thank you for your time.
You’re welcome, hope to see everyone there!
