Ep. 310 The GAZMS

This past Friday I chatted with the boys from The GAZMS in front of a live “studio” audience at Ft. Lauderdale’s Laser Wolf. We talked potato chips, Miami’s Fulltime Motherfucker / Sandratz’s “rock off” feud and talked shit about everyone’s favorite avant-garde noise asshole – Rat Bastard. They played a few songs (my apologies in advance for the horrible mix of the songs. We’re lofi out of necessity not because we’re cool.) Overall a good time was had. Hope you enjoy.

ALBUM REVIEW: Death & the Reverend – S/T

FULL ALBUM: Death & the Reverend by Death & the Reverend Self-described as “Hymns and Evensongs for lost and lonely souls” Death & the Reverend have a blending of styles which makes them a challenge to classify. In a world saturated by similarity of music, Death & the Reverend provides fresh imagery of dry, dusty […]

Music Review: Direct Hit! – Domesplitter

Punk rock has very little new twists to offer; groundbreaking isn’t the genre’s appeal anymore and considering many Misfits tunes are rehashed Ramones riffs all crimped from Chuck Berry and sped up; it’s arguable it ever was. However when the dynamics of what has always been punk’s bread and butter works; it can make the […]

INTERVIEW: Five Questions with Armageddon Man

You know how in ’80s movies there was always a bad boy that the female protagonist always had the hots for (think EVERY Charlie Sheen role from that decade) and the parental figure would always say something along the lines of “Not with that boy you’re not!” or “You’re going to give your father a heart attack!” […]

Music Review: Moon Pigeon: Self-titled EP

Space travel or aviation phenomena aside, Miami’s Moon Pigeon eschews the nomenclature’s ready-made cryptic allusion for a well-versed and thoroughly studied ’90s sound. There’s a lot proving here that hindsight is 20/20. For the members of the quartet, all veterans of South Florida’s music scene, this is a project that could only have evolved if […]

#Debauch2015 Interview: Carla X

Photo by Neil Cohen Photography Carla X is no stranger to amazing South Florida parties and is often considered a force to be reckoned with in the alternative/industrial nightclub scene. Beside dancing Carla is also a talented makeup artist, cosmetologist, gun aficionado and just a really funny human being. #Debauch2015 Interview: Reluctance

Photo by Olya Repalovskaia. As the second anniversary of TuffGnarl.com rapidly approaches, a great plethora of fantastic bands will be playing our party at Churchill’s on the 22nd. # Debauch2015 Interview: Christian Clarke of The Riot Act

Photo by Chuck Livid. I was given the chance to sit down with Christian Clarke, singer-songwriter for The Riot Act, a south Florida rock band with musical roots from all over the map.
