The Young Musicians Organization Needs Your Help on Give Miami Day

Sammy Gonzalez is one of the most dedicated musicians in South Florida. Aside from his music career, Gonzalez is one of those few individuals who have put their money where their mouth is. A product of an after-school free music lesson program himself, Gonzalez is one of South Florida’s most distinguished guitarists and, for the last three years, he’s been involved with the Young Musicians Organization and the Young Men’s Prep Academy.

Their Spring fundraiser was a success due in part to readers like you.

Now, on November 20, the annual Give Miami Day will focus fundraising energies for Miami-Dade County’s nonprofits and is hoping to surpass last year’s take of 3.2 million from over 10,000 donors.

Here’s a message from Gonzalez:

“Dear Friends and Family,

“As you probably all know, I have been involved in the Young Musicians Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that we helped form almost 3 years ago. Our small organization is making big strides in Miami-Dade County. We are so proud and excited to be participating in this year’s Give Miami Day on November 20. Give Miami Day is a unique, 24-hour online giving event that allows individuals in our community an opportunity to build a greater Miami by making a charitable gift to a local nonprofit. Every dollar donated will be matched and distributed proportionately, so please help us raise the most funds possible.

“Our goal is to raise at least $25,000 to complete the free after-school guitar program we’ve already started at the Young Men’s Prep Academy so that we can open more doors for students on the waiting list. We’ll send you a donation link on November 20 – please mark your calendars because MUSIC REALLY DOES MATTER!”
